For years the Snowmass summer week bent toward the weekend. You planned around Saturday, protected Sunday, and treated Wednesday as a placeholder. That arrangement has quietly inverted this season.
Look at what the calendar is asking of you between now and Labor Day. The Rodeo runs Wednesdays through August 19. The Free Concert Series runs Thursdays through August 27. The Artisan and Farmers' Market has settled into Friday evenings on the Base Village Events Lawn. Three consecutive weeknights, three anchor events, all within a ten-minute walk of one another. The weekend has become the recovery period.
The 52nd Snowmass Rodeo is the oldest continuously running rodeo in Colorado, and it is the closest thing the village has to a civic ritual.
